International Training

Paediatrics

Through international post fellowship training Dr Maor’s passion for excellence led him to complete the world renowned paediatric fellowship at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) for Children in London, United Kingdom. Dr. Maor was then invited back as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at GOSH after completing his fellowship. This was the first ever appointment of a West Australian orthopaedic surgeon to that prestigious post. He continues to work with GOSH and the UCL Institute of Health on several international and national research projects.

Athletes

Dr. Maor then completed fellowships at the prestigious Fortius Clinic, London, for knee reconstruction surgery as well as a further fellowship in foot & ankle surgery though the Imperial College and the Fortius Clinic, the clinic of choice for professional athletes in the UK and a FIFA medical centre of excellence.

Dr. Maor has a personal interest and love of sport having previously played tennis at a national and international level as well as having completed an Ironman. He has been a match day doctor with the Western Force Rugby Team, for the Ironman, world triathlon championship and several elite sports’ teams who have represented Australia. Recently he has worked with elite athletes from the English Premier League, French National Football Team, English Cricket and Rugby Union teams as well as elite tennis players and professional dancers. In 2018 he was the consulting orthopaedic surgeon for the Chelsea Football Club when they visited Australia. His passion and experience with sport as well as extensive sub specialisation ensures an ability to treat and understand both professional and amateur athletes.

Trauma

Dr. Maor has experience in orthopaedic trauma in all major tertiary hospitals in Perth. To further this experience he moved to Tel Aviv, Israel where he further sub specialised in foot & ankle orthopaedics with a focus on minimally invasive surgery as well as sports surgery related to knee, foot and ankle. He had also previously completed a fellowship in lower limb trauma at the level 1 trauma centre in Hadassah Medical Centre.

Surgical Visitations

Dr. Maor has completed numerous surgical visitations with leading surgeons throughout the United Kingdom, Europe, Israel and the United States. These visitations have been in the fields of knee surgery, foot & ankle surgery, paediatric orthopaedic surgery, surgery for athletes and orthopaedic trauma.
